Security & Data
ClearTok acts on your TikTok account, so you should know exactly how. This page covers what happens during a cleanup, what we keep, and how to delete it.
How a cleanup works
Step 1 · On your device
You sign in on TikTok's own page
Sign in on TikTok's login page, in your browser or inside the ClearTok app. Your TikTok session stays on your device, and ClearTok never asks for your TikTok password.
Step 2 · Straight to TikTok
Removals go from your device to TikTok
For each repost you choose, your device sends the same remove request TikTok receives when you tap Remove repost yourself. These requests don't pass through ClearTok's servers.
Step 3 · ClearTok servers
ClearTok receives usage data only
Daily removal totals, session status and errors, your app or extension version, and your public TikTok username when it's needed to troubleshoot. Never your password, session cookies or videos.
The extension and app keep a list of the reposts they removed on your device, so you can review or export it. That list stays on your device unless you export or share it.
What we keep, and why
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Account details, if you sign in: email, display name and avatar | Your ClearTok account and Pro purchases | As long as needed to run the service and handle billing or support, or until you delete your account |
| Usage: session IDs, daily removal totals and plan checks | Daily limits and Pro benefits | A limited period; raw records are regularly added up or deleted |
| Technical data: IP address, country or region, device or browser, app or extension version, referrer and campaign tags | Fair use, security and website attribution | A limited period |
| Diagnostics: session status, errors, process counts and your public TikTok username when needed | Detecting whether you're signed in and fixing failed cleanups | A limited period |
| Feedback you choose to send | Improving ClearTok | Kept for product improvement; you can ask us to delete it |
Payments are processed by the App Store, Google Play, Stripe or PayPal. ClearTok doesn't receive your card number.
On the website we use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used (page views, clicks and scrolling, device and country). You can limit it with your browser's privacy settings or extensions.
Never collected
- Your TikTok password or other login details
- Your TikTok session cookies
- Copies of your videos or reposts
- Your private messages, drafts or unpublished videos
- Your browsing history outside the pages the extension needs
Never sold, no ad tracking
We don't sell personal information or build advertising profiles. ClearTok doesn't run third-party ads, and the apps don't collect the IDFA or the Google Advertising ID.
Keeping your account safe
ClearTok repeats an action TikTok gives every user, Remove repost, and waits between each one. TikTok can still limit how many actions an account makes in a short time. If TikTok rate-limits your account, ClearTok pauses automatically; wait about an hour, then resume.
Delete your data
- 1
In the iOS or Android app
Open Account Management and delete your account. Self-service deletions are processed immediately.
- 2
Browser extension
Uninstalling the extension removes what it stored in your browser. Data linked to your ClearTok account stays until you delete the account.
- 3
By email
Email [email protected] from the address on your account. We process requests within 7 business days.
Deleting your account is permanent: removal history, session logs, usage counts, preferences and feedback are erased and can't be recovered. Export anything you want to keep from the app first.
Contact and source code
The browser extension's code is public on GitHub under the MIT License, so anyone can check what it does. ClearTok is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok or ByteDance.
